ActiveSync Setup in Outlook 2016 (Version 1708)

This tutorial will show you how to manually setup your Entrvst ActiveSync Email Account in Outlook 2016 (Version 1708).


We will show you if you have Version 1708 or not below.

ActiveSync will sync email, calendar, address book, and tasks in Outlook with our Webmail.

You must be subscribed to ActiveSync, otherwise this function will not work. If you are on our Plan 3 and need us to enable ActiveSync for your account, please email your request to our support team before setting up Outlook.

Determine Your Mail Server Address


You will use the mail server address for both incoming mail server and outgoing mail server settings when adding your email account to mobile devices or third party desktop applications. 

So, first let's determine your mail server address.

 

Step 1: Open a web browser on your computer and go to webmail.yourdomain.com

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

For example, if your email address is bob@xyzhealth.com, you would type in webmail.xyzhealth.com.
Do not use a search bar or include http:// or https:// when entering the address into the browser's url bar.


Step 2: You will automatically be redirected to your mail server.

Your mail server address is the first portion of the URL, right before /Login.aspx.
In this example (below) the mail server address that we were redirected to is mail3.entrvst.com.

 

Step 3: Please write down your mail server address, you will need it to complete the steps below.

 


Is my Outlook Version 1708?

 

If you are launching Outlook for the first time and see this prompt, you have Version 1708

Skip the next two steps for your Account Setup Details.

Adding an additional account to Outlook 

 

Step 1: If you are adding an additional email account to Outlook, click the File tab.

 

 

 

Step 2: Click on Office Account.

 

 

 

Step 3: You will see Version 1708 here. Please fully close Outlook.

 

 

 

 

Step 4:  In the Windows search box on your, search for "Control Panel."

 

 

 

 

Step 5: Open Control Panel.

 

 

 

 

Step 6: In the top right search box, enter Mail.

 

 

 

 

Step 7: Open Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016).

 

 

 

 

Step 8: Click Email Accounts...

 

 

 

 

Step 9: Click New...

 

 


Account Setup Details

 

Step 1: Click Manual setup or additional server types, then click Next.

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Select Exchange ActiveSync, then click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3: Complete the following fields, then click Next

A) Enter your name, this will be the displayed on all outgoing messages (what recipients see).
B) Enter your email address
C) Enter your mail server address
D) Enter your password
E)  Move the slider all the way to the right until it says All

 

 

 

 

Step 4: Click Close.

 

 

 

 

Step 5: Un-check Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too. Then click Finish.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6: Click Close

 

Your account has been successfully setup.
New email will be pushed to your Inbox in real-time.

 


Disable Outlook Junk Filter

Please be sure to disable the Junk Filtering in Outlook.
You do not need this filtering, as we have state of the art spam filtering in place on the servers.

 

Step 1: Open Outlook. Click the arrow next to your email address to expand the folder listing.

 

 

 

Step 2: Click on the Junk (drop-down) and select Junk E-mail Options...

 

 

Step 3: Select No Automatic Filtering, then click OK.
